![]() None of these other look alikes have a clean looking interface like E++ have and none seem to execute so quickly and behave efficiently.Į++. You will see a Nanillion different file managers all coping what Peter originally wrote almost three decades ago for MS/DOS and PC/DOS. Just Search the Net for Norton Commander. But, I think this would really sweeten this really supreme File Manager. Of course, E++ would have to be installed on both systems. I would further advance this "Dual Pane" by adding BlueTooth support so folks could drag & drop to their other computers. Even Bill Gates thought it was a kewl feature and put in Windows before Windows ever became an Operation System. It was one of Peter Norton's best programs and it helped him establish the empire of what is now Symantec. Norton Commander was written in the 1980's and it was such a success, people still use it today. Personally I would like to see the default install have dual pane turned on, but because this animal is established, the original install look should remain the same at install time. It would be my recommendation to include this feature under the view toolbar as the first entry just above the "Status Bar" selection. Eliminate as many keystrokes and clicks as possible.Īs a well established file manager, this should NOT be a default installation feature. Really, that is what an advanced file manager should do. It would eliminate so many keystrokes being able to drag a file from one pane to another. That would be so kewl in this file manager. The day that a Dual Pane becomes available, I will wet may pants. In the questionWhat are the best file managers for Windows XYplorer is ranked 1st while Explorer++ is ranked 18th. However I will most likely forget to regularly check back at the website for updates, and I wouldn't want to miss the news if such a release did drop. 626 113 Free 17 11 When comparing XYplorer vs Explorer++, the Slant community recommends XYplorer for most people. Is there an automated method for staying informed of the latest Explorer++ releases and changelogs? If these features are implemented I would like to know as soon as possible. If you could implement this I would be more than happy to switch to Explorer++ as my primary file manager however, until those features are added I'm going to have to stick with Xplorer2. I would absolutely love to see a version of Explorer++ with a dual pane viewer, along with breadcrumb style navigation. The one advantage Explorer++ has over all of these alternatives is that it has a very nice looking GUI. Xplorer2, Total Commander, and XYplorer are the three most popular explorer replacement programs, and all have dual pane configurations. It isn't a coincidence that all of the most popular browsers all have a dual pane UI. I dual pane interface is definetely needed. I registered for the forum simply to make this same request.
